High trekking boots. These are the primary protection for your feet against injuries when moving across rough terrain, climbing mountains on rocky slopes, and during steep descents. Properly chosen footwear is the key to comfort on the route. It's best to bring well-worn boots for the tour; otherwise, we strongly recommend stocking up on bandages.
Additional comfortable pair of shoes (sneakers). In the evening after an active day, your feet need to rest, and trekking boots need to dry.
Waterproof pants and membrane jacket. If you don't have these, additionally bring a waterproof raincoat (poncho) with your outerwear. During the active part of the tour, avoid denim fabric as it dries slowly, is impractical, and increases the likelihood of injuries.
Fleece jacket (fleece, Polartec, or sweater). When choosing a fleece, it's important to consider thermal qualities and quick-drying properties.
Two sets of thermal underwear or equivalent (cotton is not suitable). The second set is necessary in case the first one gets wet and doesn't have time to dry.
Warm jacket (down jacket) or down vest. During the day at the top of the plateau and in the evenings at the base, the temperature can drop below freezing.
Fleece gloves. For warmth and protection from rain, wind, and mosquitoes.
Trekking socks — 2-3 pairs, 1-2 pairs of regular socks, 1 pair of warm socks (minimize cotton).
Extra socks are needed not only in case of soiling but also in case your feet get wet.
Thin hat, buff, cap. The weather on the plateau changes quickly; today it might be hot and sunny, and tomorrow morning could bring cold winds with snow.
Personal hygiene items.
Personal first aid kit. The instructor has a general first aid kit containing everything necessary for providing first aid. We recommend bringing individual medications yourself.
Small backpack no more than 35 liters, for carrying personal items during day hikes.
Flip-flops for shower and sauna.
Swimwear.
Sunscreen.
Sunglasses.
Mosquito and midge repellent spray and/or mosquito net.
In summer, there are many mosquitoes and midges at Lama. But we know how to deal with them. No pesky insect will prevent you from enjoying your time in nature.
